Arla Protein Yoghurts are a range of fat-free yoghurts that are packed with protein, which makes them an excellent choice for anyone focusing on a protein-rich diet. 

They’re particularly great as a high-protein snack. In my own routine, I often enjoy these yoghurts as a satisfying snack between lunch and dinner, which helps keep the hunger pangs at bay. 

Additionally, having one a few hours before bed works wonders for me, providing a light yet nutritious treat that doesn’t feel heavy. Their versatility and nutritional profile make them a regular feature in my daily diet.

What are Arla Protein Yogurts Good For?

Arla Protein Yogurts are excellent for incorporating additional protein into your diet, which is crucial for muscle building and retention.

Equally important, these yoghurts are invaluable during weight loss regimes.

When you’re shedding pounds, it’s essential to maintain as much muscle mass as possible, and the protein in these yoghurts helps achieve that.

Beyond muscle management, Arla Protein Yogurts are a superb choice for enhancing your overall diet. A diet rich in protein is often regarded as healthier, contributing to better body composition, satiety, and metabolic efficiency. 

Unless you have a specific health condition that restricts protein intake, incorporating these yoghurts into your daily routine can contribute to a more balanced, nutritious diet.

Arla Protein Yoghurts: My First Thoughts

When I first considered trying Arla Protein Pouches, the price point definitely caught my attention. They’re not the cheapest option on the shelf – Lidl’s own Milbona Protein yoghurts, for instance, are more wallet-friendly at just 95p. 

However, Arla’s offerings are still reasonably priced, generally falling between £1.10 to £1.30, depending on where you shop.

What’s more, you can often snag a deal at big superstores like Asda, Tesco, or Iceland. They typically run promotions where you can get 4 pouches for around £3, or similar offers such as each pouch for £1.

At the time of writing Asda appears to have a never-ending deal on these so now is a great time to stock up.

These deals make them more accessible, though I must admit, the costs do start to add up, particularly for someone like me who consumes 2-3 pots daily.

While they may not be the cheapest, I find their value justifiable, considering their convenience and nutritional content. However, for those who consume them as regularly as I do, it’s worth keeping an eye on the budget.


When it comes to taste, I’ve got to say Arla Protein Pouches really hit the mark for me.

Unlike some other protein yoghurts I’ve tried, they aren’t overly sweet. Take, for instance, the Milbona yoghurts; depending on the flavour, they can sometimes be a bit too sugary for my liking.

Delving into the flavours, blueberry tops my list. It’s got that perfect balance of sweetness and tartness, making it my go-to choice. Coming in a close second is raspberry – another flavour that nails it for me.

On the flip side, the passion fruit flavour didn’t quite do it for me, which was a bit surprising. I’m usually all in for fruity flavours, but something about this one just didn’t sit right on my palate.

Lastly, I gave the salted caramel flavour a go. Now, while it wasn’t exactly my cup of tea, it wasn’t terrible either.

It’s a decent alternative for those who aren’t keen on fruit flavours. It’s got a unique taste that could appeal to someone looking for something a bit different in their protein yoghurt.

It wouldn’t be a firm favourite of mine, but if you like that taste it may be yours.

When I first tried Arla Protein Pouches, the texture was the first thing that caught my attention. 

They have this smooth, almost creamy consistency that’s notably free from any grittiness. I was genuinely impressed with the texture, as it made for a pleasant eating experience.

Comparatively, they aren’t as thick as Lidl’s Milbona Yogurts, which I’ve always appreciated for their hearty thickness.

However, the slightly lighter consistency of Arla’s tubs didn’t detract from my enjoyment; in fact, it offered a refreshing change. The smoothness makes them easy to consume, especially if you’re on the go or looking for a quick protein fix without the heaviness.


When I first came across Arla Protein Pouches, their traditional yoghurt pot style caught my eye.

These small, easily portable tubs are a breeze to slip into a lunch box, which is brilliant, especially if you’ve got kids and are looking for a healthy, high-protein snack option for them. 

They’re equally great for adults – I’ve taken them to the office on numerous occasions.

However, it’s not all been smooth sailing. I recall one incident where a rogue pen in my bag managed to pierce the yoghurt lid, leading to a bit of a protein yoghurt explosion all over my gym kit. 

Not ideal, to say the least. 

But I’ve since learned to use these yoghurts more strategically, reserving them specifically for gym days when they’re less likely to mingle with perilous office supplies.

Practicality-wise, they’re a win. With a shelf life of about 10-14 days, I can stock up on them in bulk and just leave them in the fridge. 

This convenience factor is a big plus for me, making it easy to always have a healthy snack on hand without the worry of them going off too quickly. In terms of fitting into a busy lifestyle, Arla Protein yoghurts are fairly handy and adaptable.


When I first came across the Arla Protein Yoghurts, I was genuinely intrigued by the array of flavours they offered: Strawberry, Blueberry, Raspberry, Papaya & Passion Fruit, and Salted Caramel

Each one promised its own unique burst of taste, catering to a variety of preferences.

As someone who regularly includes protein yoghurts in my diet, I appreciated the selection.

The fruity options like Strawberry, Blueberry, and Raspberry are perfect for those moments when I crave something sweet yet full of protein. 

The Passion Fruit variant is a delightful tropical twist; although it’s not my favourite, it offers a refreshing change that you might like.

And the Salted Caramel? It’s a treat for those days when I’m looking for something indulgently flavourful but without eating a high-calorie dessert.

However, despite this appealing range, I did find myself missing a classic: Vanilla.

As a fan of vanilla-flavoured protein yoghurts, I couldn’t help but feel that the inclusion of a Vanilla flavour would have rounded out the selection perfectly.

Vanilla is versatile and a staple for many, including myself. It pairs well with almost anything and is a flavour that’s hard to tire of.

Thankfully, Arla do a Vanilla flavoured protein pouch which is a favourite of mine and we’ve reviewed previously.

Here’s a breakdown of Arla Protein Yoghurt’s nutritional information.

As you can see form the table, there is a low amount of sugar in these protein yoghurts. This is almost half of what’s in some other offerings. I was pretty impressed, and it makes them great if you’re conscious about your sugar intake.

Now, it’s worth mentioning that these yogurts contain 20g of protein per serving, which is slightly less than the Milbona Protein Yogurts from Lidl that offer 25g. For some, especially those who are very meticulous about their protein intake, this 5g difference might be a deciding factor. 

However, in my view, the difference is quite marginal.

In the grand scheme of things, an additional 5g of protein isn’t a massive shortfall and can easily be compensated for in other parts of your diet, such as your main meals. 

Remember, a balanced diet isn’t just about one meal or one product; it’s about the overall picture. 

So, while the Arla Protein Yogurts might have slightly less protein compared to some alternatives, they still make a valuable contribution to your daily protein intake.

This makes them a healthier option for those conscious about sugar intake. 

The balance of flavour, nutritional value, and the natural ingredients used in Arla Protein Yogurts make them a worthy addition to any health-focused diet.

I eat them regularly and for protein content and taste I think they’re a winner!
