Trust me, you won’t regret it.

Bulk Organic Pure Whey Protein – My First Thoughts

Bulk's Organic Pure Whey Protein on a kitchen work top.

As soon as I placed the order for Bulk’s Organic Pure Whey Protein, I couldn’t help but feel a thrill of anticipation.

Opting for the Bulk Boost delivery was a decision well made, offering me an entire year of next-day delivery for just £9.99.

When the package arrived at my doorstep in less than 24 hours, I was pleasantly surprised. The speed and efficiency of the delivery process certainly didn’t disappoint.

Unboxing the protein, I was immediately struck by the simplicity of it all. This was not a product hiding behind flashy gimmicks or unnecessary additives, but rather a straightforward, organic whey protein concentrate.

What’s more, it’s certified organic by the Soil Association, offering the same level of quality as Bulk’s revered Pure Whey Protein™.

It was clear to me from the get-go that the Organic Pure Whey Protein™ was going to be a natural choice for anyone looking to incorporate more protein into their diet in a wholesome and balanced manner.

The fact that this protein powder is unflavoured opened up a world of culinary possibilities for me.

It was like a blank canvas, ready to accommodate whatever flavours I fancied. From stirring it into my morning porridge to adding a scoop to my homemade cookies and flapjacks, the possibilities seemed endless.

I even experimented with creating protein-packed smoothies, incorporating fresh fruits, nut butter, and seeds. Ill discuss this in more detail later on.

Of course, there were days when I simply mixed it with water or milk. It was all about the freedom to tailor the protein to my own taste preferences.

And let’s not forget the nutritional content. Each serving of this organic whey protein packs in 23g of protein and only 110 calories.

It’s actually 1g more than Bulk’s regular offering and while 1g might not sound a lot, it’ll add up over time and after all, who can complain about MORE protein?

I was delighted to discover that it was low in sugar and fat as well, with only 1.1g of sugar and 1.5g of fat per serving

With no artificial sweeteners, flavourings, or colours, it truly felt like a natural choice. I was feeding my body something pure, simple, and devoid of any unnecessary frills.

I’ll be honest, this is my first time trying a completely organic whey product without additional flavours and additives. Going flavourless is somewhat scary, but the knowledge that there is absolutely nothing added to this provides much reassurance.

What Does Bulk Organic Pure Whey Protein Taste Like?

Bulk's Organic Pure Whey Protein powder close in package shot.

When I first set eyes on the Bulk Organic Pure Whey Protein, I was a tad apprehensive. The only flavour on offer was ‘unflavoured’. I know, right? It seemed like a risky gamble.

My first thought was, “How can ‘unflavoured’ even be a flavour?”

But, I decided to take the plunge and give it a go. And I’m really pleased to say it wasn’t a disaster.

Yes, it’s true, the protein powder is quite bland, and certainly not bursting with flavour, but it’s not unpleasant either. It’s like a blank canvas waiting for you to splash it with your favourite tastes.

I’ve always been partial to the classic flavours, like a lovely banana or a rich chocolate, so this was a new experience.

But I found my way around this little hurdle by mixing in some peanut butter and a banana. It was a bit of a makeshift solution, but it did give my shake that bit of oomph it needed.

On other days I simply mixed it with milk and you know what, it tasted like a creamier version of milk, so it’s not all bad.

Water wasn’t the best option as that tended to taste like watery milk, but if you care about what you put in your body and want to avoid additives like soy, xanthan gum and all those other odd sounding ‘ingredients’ then you’ll certainly be able to accept this.

So, overall, while I wouldn’t say it’s the tastiest protein powder I’ve ever had, it’s by no means the worst. I’m quite happy with it. But, I must admit, I’m holding out hope that they’ll introduce some new flavours in the future.

A bit of cocoa and stevia would work wouldn’t it Bulk? Wouldn’t it???

It’s always nice to have a bit of variety, isn’t it?

Did Bulk Organic Pure Whey Protein Mix Well?

Bulk's Organic Whey Protein powder opened inside package with scoop.

In my honest opinion, the Bulk Organic Pure Whey Protein mixed exceptionally well. Using my trusty blender, I whipped up a protein shake that was super smooth, almost like drinking silk.

It was a breeze, really. I even put it to the test using a protein shaker, and I must say, it didn’t disappoint.

Sure, I had to put some elbow grease into it and shake for about 30 seconds, but the end result was worth it.

Now, the shake did turn out a bit runnier than I typically prefer. However, I found an easy solution to this. I simply added an extra scoop of protein, and voila! It was sorted. Besides, who can say no to more protein? It’s all for the gains, after all.

I also found a few tiny bits of unmixed powder but it wasn’t enough to deter from the drinking pleasure and again, you have to expect some compromise for the lack of additives.

How Much Does Bulk Organic Pure Whey Protein Cost?

Taking the plunge into the world of Bulk Organic Pure Whey Protein, you’ll quickly find that it’s not exactly a walk in the park for your wallet.

A mere 500g bag will set you back £28.99, or £1.83 per serving, and that’s just the tip of the iceberg.

Sizing up to a 1kg bag costs £49.99 (£1.53/serving), and if you’re really committed to fuelling your body with this organic goodness, a whopping 2.5kg bag comes with a price tag of £114.99 (£1.39/serving).

Now, I won’t sugarcoat it, this isn’t the bargain of the century.

But, as the saying goes, you often get what you pay for and this organic shake is no exception.

It might not be the best fit for the budget-conscious among us, but if you’re someone who carefully scrutinises every morsel that enters your body, this price might just be a pill you’re willing to swallow.

In my humble opinion, the trick here is to keep a hawk-eye on Bulk’s website. They’re always throwing some sort of offer out there, and nabbing one of those could mean snagging this product at a reduced price.

It’s not a guarantee, but it’s definitely worth a try. After all, if we’re trying to do right by our bodies, it’s only fair we try to do the same for our bank accounts, right?

I grabbed a 2.5kg bag while they had a sale on and picked it up for £80.49 which works out at a reasonable 97p per serving

So, while Bulk Organic Pure Whey Protein might not be the cheapest option on the market, I believe it’s a worthy investment for those of us who truly care about what we put into our bodies.

Bulk Organic Pure Whey Protein- My Final Verdict

In wrapping up, my personal experience with Bulk Organic Pure Whey Protein has been largely positive.

The texture is smooth, it mixes effortlessly with my go-to liquids, and though it comes unflavoured, I didn’t find myself grimacing at any unpleasant aftertastes. That said, I can’t help but yearn for a bit of variety in the taste department.

Milk was my go-to so there’s a small calorie impact, but it did give the best taste for an unflavoured protein powder.

You could get away with water if you were really watching your digits, although it wasn’t the most tasty option.

The introduction of flavours could really spice up my protein shakes, and make them something I look forward to, rather than just a part of my daily routine.

When it comes to price, it’s a bit of a sticking point.

Bulk Organic Pure Whey Protein does come with a hefty tag, and I won’t shy away from admitting that it’s been a blow to my wallet. But, as the saying goes, you get what you pay for.

If you’re after an organic protein powder, I genuinely believe you’d be hard-pressed to find a better choice than what Bulk has on offer. It might require a bit of budgeting, but in my opinion, the benefits outweigh the cost.

In conclusion, Bulk Organic Pure Whey Protein gets a thumbs up from me.

If you can afford it then you’ll be doing wonders for your body.

Bulk’s protein powders don’t generally contain many nasties but if you’re someone who wants to avoid the likes of soy lecithin, xanthan gum, sucralose and other sweeteners, colourings and more then Bulk’s Organic Pure Whey Protein is the way to go.

There’s a little room for improvement, sure, but overall, I reckon it’s a fantastic product. And if you’re as keen on organic as I am, I’m confident you’ll think the same.
