If you’ve got a bit more time it’s worth reading the entire article as we go into more depth about the various meals, flavours and explore the full range.

What Are MyProtein Ready Meals?

MyProtein read meals in Beef Pasta, Chicken Katsu and Chicken Tikka varieties.

MyProtein Ready Meals are a modern-day solution for those juggling a busy schedule and a health-conscious mindset.

Hailing from the reputable brand MyProtein, known for its vast array of nutritional supplements and health products, these ready meals are its venture into providing balanced, quick-fix meal options.

At first glance, these meals come in sleek, no-fuss packaging, each boasting a balanced macro profile to cater to the dietary needs of the fitness community.

They are pre-cooked and sealed, requiring just a few minutes in the microwave to bring a hot, decent meal to the table. The variety is quite impressive, spanning across different cuisines and dietary preferences.

From hearty meat dishes to vegetarian and vegan options, the range attempts to cover a broad spectrum of tastes and nutritional requirements.

The core appeal lies in the convenience. There’s no chopping, no cooking, and certainly no lengthy clean-ups. It’s all about getting a nutritious meal with minimal time and effort.

Yet, they claim not to compromise on the quality of ingredients, ensuring each meal is high in protein, low in sugar, and contains a good balance of carbs and fats.

But it’s not just about the macros; they also take a swing at micros by including a variety of vegetables and complex carbs in each meal, aiming for a well-rounded nutritional profile.

The MyProtein Ready Meals seemed like a dream come true for someone like me, who is always on the lookout for simplified, nutritious meal solutions amidst a busy routine.

They promise a shortcut to a healthy diet without the common hurdles of meal prep. In the following sections, I’ll delve deeper into my personal experience diving into this modern-day convenience, one meal at a time.

Who Are MyProtein Ready Meals For?

Large selection of the MyProtein ready meals range.

In my opinion, MyProtein Ready Meals are a brilliant option for a wide range of people.

From the gym-goer constantly chasing their protein goals, the busy professional struggling to dodge fast food temptations, to the health-conscious individual with little time to spare in the kitchen, these meals come as a sigh of relief.

I found them to be a great companion on those frenzied mornings when the alarm snooze overpowered my meal prep plans.

Their convenience is unmatched, and the nutritional balance they offer is a solid answer to the fast-food culture that’s become a norm. It’s a step towards nutritious, hassle-free eating, which, let’s face it, is a rarity in our fast-paced lives.

However, not everyone might find them to be up to snuff. For the culinary enthusiasts who thrive on the sensory journey of cooking, the experience of a pre-packaged meal may fall flat.

Additionally, individuals with very specific dietary preferences or restrictions might find the range a bit limiting. Though there’s variety, it may not satisfy every palate or meet every dietary need.

I also believe they’re a great fit for those venturing into a healthier lifestyle but are intimidated by the complexity of meal planning and preparation.

MyProtein Ready Meals simplify the transition, making healthy eating less of a chore and more of a lifestyle change achievable for anyone.

The bottom line? If you’re pressed for time, keen on keeping your diet in check, and open to the idea of ready meals, MyProtein’s offerings could be a game-changer.

They bridged the gap between my chaotic daily routine and my nutritional aspirations, making meal times less of a stress and more of a breeze.

MyProtein Ready Meals: The Taste

MyProtein meal cooked and open with fork in it.

Jumping into the world of MyProtein Ready Meals was an intriguing adventure for my taste buds.

Initially, I held my reservations, but I was pleasantly surprised. The flavour profiles were a lot more appealing than I had anticipated.

Specifically, the Beef Pasta Bolognese turned out to be a delightful choice, easily becoming my favourite. Its rich, hearty taste evoked a sense of home-cooked authenticity which I thoroughly enjoyed.

However, it wasn’t all roses.

The Meat Feast Pasta didn’t quite hit the mark for me. I found it lacking in the flavour department and the meats included tasted somewhat “processed.”

It sort of detracted from the healthy meal vibe that MyProtein Ready Meals generally encapsulates.

However, it’s worth noting that my aversion could stem from my personal dislike of pork and chicken meatballs.

Having tasted around 90% of the meals in this range, I’ve found the majority to be quite pleasing to the palate.

The occasional misstep, like the Meat Feast Pasta, is a minor hiccup in what’s been an overwhelmingly delightful culinary journey. With a large range of choices, these meals have a lot to offer and have mostly satisfied my taste expectations.

MyProtein Ready Meals: Microwavable

When it comes to MyProtein Ready Meals, one can’t help but appreciate the microwavable aspect of these frozen delights. They nestle perfectly in the freezer, awaiting their turn to satisfy your hunger pangs with minimal fuss.

The tubs they arrive in are completely reusable, making them a nifty addition to your kitchenware.

When it comes to cost, these meals are a wallet-friendly option, with a trio of them costing around £10. This pricing places them in a competitive stance against many supermarket-ready meals, offering not just affordability but a nutritious punch.

Having one for lunch daily has seamlessly blended into my routine. The ease of just popping one into the microwave, and minutes later having a warm, tasty meal ready is a modern-day luxury I thoroughly enjoy.

Besides, the cost-effectiveness doesn’t end at the price tag; the nutritional value, particularly the generous protein content averaging 30-40g per meal, makes them a smart choice for anyone keeping an eye on their macros.

My tastebuds have found loyal friends in the Beef Pasta Bolognese, Pulled Pork Mac & Cheese, and the Katsu Chicken with Rice. These three have become my go-to meals, creating a delightful little lunch cycle that never fails to satisfy.

Each bite delivers not just great taste but a reminder of the simplicity and efficiency MyProtein Ready Meals bring to the table, especially on hectic days when time is of the essence.

The blend of convenience, taste, cost, and nutritional value makes these microwavable meals a commendable choice for anyone looking to maintain a balanced diet without breaking the bank or spending hours in the kitchen.

MyProtein Ready Meals: For The Oven

Venturing into the MyProtein Ready Meals’ oven-based selections turned out to be a delightful culinary experience.

Among the offerings are ostrich fillet steaks, chicken skewers, and high protein pizzas. The overarching theme across these meals is excellence in taste and nutritional value.

The star of the show, in my opinion, has to be the protein pizzas. They are nothing short of incredible. The taste is outstanding, hitting that perfect balance between a robust flavour and a light, enjoyable meal.

The deal of getting 3 of them for £10 is an absolute bargain. And it’s not just about the cost-effectiveness; the health aspect is equally appealing.

Unlike regular pizzas that tend to be high in calories and low in nutritional value, these protein pizzas boast a significantly lower calorie count.

Plus, the whopping 60-70g of protein per pizza is a real game-changer for anyone looking to maintain a high-protein diet.

However, not all the oven-based meals hit the mark for me. I found the Seasoned Chicken Skewers to be a bit of a letdown

They turned out quite dry, which made it a struggle to get through them. The taste felt flat, lacking the juicy, tender texture I was anticipating.

On the flip side, the Satay Chicken Skewers and the Salt & Pepper varieties were a total hit. They were succulent, well-seasoned, and simply delicious, making them a joy to devour.

The oven-based range from MyProtein Ready Meals offers a wonderful blend of taste, nutrition, and convenience. Despite the minor hiccup with the Seasoned Chicken Skewers, the overall lineup is impressive and most certainly worth a try.

The protein pizzas alone are a fantastic reason to explore this range, offering a healthier, tasty alternative to a classic favourite.

MyProtein Ready Meals: Desserts & Snacks

Indulging in the sweet offerings from the MyProtein Ready Meals range has been quite the journey of discovery. The MyProtein Chocolate Ice Cream swiftly caught my fancy

It’s a delightful low-calorie alternative to regular ice cream, boasting a high protein content to boot. Picture this: a whole tub comes with around 300 calories and a whopping 31g of protein! It’s nothing short of impressive.

While it doesn’t quite reach the creamy dreaminess of a Ben & Jerry’s scoop, it surely holds its ground when the sweet cravings kick in post-dinner. It’s like having your cake and eating it too, or should I say, enjoying your ice cream without the calorie guilt.

On the flip side, the MyProtein Chocolate Brownie didn’t quite live up to expectations. It turned out to be a bit on the dry side and lacked the rich, chocolaty punch I was hoping for.

It was a tad disappointing, especially when you’re in need of that sweet, flavourful ending to your meal.

These dessert and snack options from MyProtein are a testament to the brand’s effort to bridge the gap between nutrition, taste, and that ever-so-necessary sweet indulgence.

While they hit the mark with the ice cream, there’s a bit of a miss on the brownie front.

Nonetheless, it’s comforting to know that there are healthier sweet options available for those of us looking to balance our dietary intake without compromising too much on the sweet delights.

And let’s be real, who doesn’t appreciate a good, low-calorie ice cream that also packs a protein punch?

Are MyProtein Ready Meals Worth It?

MyProtein meal fully cooked in the microwave.

Absolutely, the value proposition of MyProtein Ready Meals largely hinges on individual circumstances and priorities.

From my vantage point, they come across as a solid option for those bustling days when time is of the essence, yet nutritional goals remain a priority.

The convenience they offer is indisputable; being able to have a meal ready with minimal preparation is a boon in today’s fast-paced world.

The financial aspect, however, warrants a closer look. While each meal is reasonably priced, the weekly tally can indeed climb up, especially if one leans heavily on these for their daily dietary intake.

In my experience, a weekly expenditure of £40-50 is quite plausible, which might feel a pinch on the pocket for some.

But then again, if your budget allows for it, it’s a cost that could be justified by the convenience and the nutritional balance these meals bring to the table.

The variety on offer is another perk. Whether you’re in the mood for something hearty like the Beef Pasta Bolognese or a lighter, spicy option like the Piri Piri Chicken meals, there’s something to cater to different taste buds.

And let’s not forget the sweet treats; the low-calorie, high-protein Chocolate Ice Cream is a delightful way to indulge your sweet tooth without straying from your nutritional path.

On the flip side, not every offering hits the mark in terms of taste. For instance, the Chocolate Brownie left a bit to be desired, and some meals like the Meat Feast Pasta could use a bit more zest.

But then, taste is a subjective realm, and what might not tickle my fancy could very well be a hit with others.

If you’re someone with a packed schedule, looking for easy-to-prepare, nutritionally balanced meals, and if your budget allows, MyProtein Ready Meals could very well be a worthy addition to your meal rotation.

They offer a blend of convenience, variety, and nutritional balance that’s hard to beat, especially when time is scarce and nutritional goals are high on the agenda.

What I Like About MyProtein Ready Meals

MyProtein meals cooked pizza.

Navigating the bustling rhythm of daily life often leaves little room for meticulous meal prep.

That’s where MyProtein Ready Meals have become a cherished companion on my dietary journey. Here’s a snapshot of the elements that have won me over:

Reasonable Price

The price point of MyProtein Ready Meals is quite appealing, especially when considering the balance of convenience and nutrition they provide.

Each meal comes at a cost that doesn’t break the bank, making it an accessible choice for many looking to keep their nutrition on track without burning a hole in their wallet.

While taste can be a subjective arena, I’ve found a good number of these meals to be quite palatable.

The Beef Pasta Bolognese has a comforting, home-cooked feel, and the low-calorie Chocolate Ice Cream is a delightful sweet treat.

Even though there are a couple of misses like the Meat Feast Pasta, the hits far outweigh the misses in the taste department.

The convenience factor is a game-changer. The hustle of daily life leaves little room for elaborate meal preparations.

With MyProtein Ready Meals, a nutritious meal is just a quick heat-up away.

It’s a time-saver, a hassle-eliminator, and a reliable companion on those days when every minute counts.

The variety in the range is commendable. From hearty meals to lighter, protein-packed options, and even sweet treats, there’s something to cater to a myriad of taste buds and dietary preferences.

The breadth of choice makes it easy to keep things fresh and exciting, ensuring that mealtime doesn’t morph into a monotonous routine.

All in all, MyProtein Ready Meals bring to the table a blend of taste, convenience, variety, and affordability, making them a solid choice for anyone looking to streamline their meal prep process while keeping their nutritional goals in sight.

They’ve become a valued part of my dietary regimen, simplifying meal times without compromising on taste or nutritional value.

What I Don’t Like About MyProtein Ready Meals

Navigating through the evolving menu of MyProtein Ready Meals has been akin to a culinary rollercoaster.

A notable hiccup came to light when I realised that some staples like the Meatza suddenly vanished from the website, leaving me in a lurch of curiosity.

Was it a mere restocking delay or has it bid its farewell from the range? The ambiguity around the availability of certain meals did throw a spanner in the works, especially when you’ve got your favourites.

Moving on to the taste terrain, the Chicken Skewers posed a bit of a dry dilemma. While the essence of grilled goodness was there, a generous drizzle of additional sauce could have been the hero to vanquish the dryness.

A touch more marinade or a side of dip could elevate the skewers from arid to juicy, making each bite a moist morsel of delight.

But, as I sift through the spectrum of flavours and meals on offer, these concerns appear as mere specks on an otherwise appetising landscape.

The MyProtein Ready Meals range largely hits the bullseye, providing a medley of choices to suit varying taste buds while aligning with nutritional goals.

These minor blips hardly overshadow the convenience and variety that this range brings to the table, especially for those bustling through busy schedules.

The beauty of the range is in its ability to offer a balanced, nutritious meal without the rigmarole of preparation, and that, in my book, covers a multitude of minor misgivings.
